dr josh levisohnWelcome to New England Jewish Academy, the premier preschool-12 Orthodox day school in the Western New England region.

When you walk the halls of NEJA, you see the vibrancy of excited children, the echoes of engaged learning, the laughter of deep friendships, and the warmth of great relationships. Our modest size allows us to meet the needs of each child in a unique and special way.

Our Core Values speak to a school whose mission combines the strongest commitment to our Jewish heritage with a passionate responsibility for the world in which we live.

  • Jewish Commitment
  • Academic Growth
  • Derech Eretz
  • Engagement with the World
  • Chessed
  • Israel

In 2019, New England Jewish Academy was founded as the product of the merger between the Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy of Greater Hartford and the Hebrew High School of New England. Our Lower Division continues to serve primarily the West Hartford and surrounding areas, while the Upper Division draws from the entire region.

We welcome students from all Jewish backgrounds who want to join our warm community, who desire to engage seriously with the texts of our tradition, and who look forward to the challenge of a strong general studies education. Our graduates go on to top colleges, yeshivot and seminaries and become pillars of their own communities.

Please come and visit us and see what makes New England Jewish Academy such a special place to grow up as a child.

With best wishes,

Dr. Josh Levisohn, Head of School
